三色沙谷米糕(Steamed Pearl Sago With Coconut)


十来日的失踪,安迪“又肥来咯”!
可有问过,安迪究竟发生何事?
哈。。。。哈。。。。安迪没事, 但是安迪的电脑有事。
所以这些天,趁它入厂维修,我也去做我的常年全身体检。
很感恩的,一切健好。
I'm back! Ever wondered what happened to me? Haha, I'm fine, but the same can't be said for my computer. So while my computer visited a "doctor", I too went for my annual medical checkup. Fortunately, all is well.

接下来咱们又可以天天闲话家常,礼尚来往。

这是那天安家烧烤会,其中一款糕点- 三色沙谷米糕。
喜欢他艳丽的外貌,让热闹的聚会更显喜气。
One of the dishes from NaNak's barbecue party --- Steamed Pearl Sago With Coconut. Its vibrant colors brought a happier mood to the barbecue.




三色沙谷米糕(Steamed Pearl Sago With Coconut)
Recipe adapted from : Jane's Corner
 材料:(A) 250克 沙谷米(洗净,浸泡60分钟,沥干)
      200克 鲜椰丝
(B) 120克细砂糖
        40克浓椰奶
(C)  1汤匙 斑兰汁(取自6片斑兰叶),数滴绿色素
(D)  1/4茶 匙玫瑰精,数滴粉红色素
(E) 1/2 茶匙 盐


做法:
1。 将浸泡后的沙谷米和材料(B),鲜椰丝及糖混合均匀。
2。 将做法(1)分成三部分。 第一部分和(C)混合。第二部分和(D)混合。第三部分保留原状,只加上(E)的盐。
3。 在一个7寸方形脱底模子涂上一层油,倒入白色沙谷米,用压板轻压表面,大火蒸10分钟。这时洒入数滴蓝花汁/兰色素,再继续蒸5分钟。
4。 倒入粉红沙谷米,再继续蒸10分钟;接着倒入斑兰沙谷米,再继续蒸10分钟或至熟。
5。 最后,待沙谷米糕完全冷却后才可切成小块食用



Ingredients :
(A) 250g pearl sago(wash, soak for 60 minutes, drain), 200g grated coconut
(B) 120g sugar, 40g thick coconut
(C) 1 tbsp pandan juice (extracted from 6 pounded pandan leaves), few drops green colouring
(D) 1/4 tsp rose essence, few drops pink colouring
(E) ½ tsp salt

Method:
Wash the pearl sago and soak for 60 minutes and drain.
Mix the soaked pearl sago with (B) grated coconut and sugar.
Divide into 3 equal portions.
Mix one portion with (C) and one portion with (D) and leaving one portion plain, just add (E).
Grease the 7" square steaming tray and pour in the plain pearl sago. Press lightly with spatula and steam for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with some concentrated blue pea flower juice (bunga telang) or some blue food coloring. Continue steaming for another 5 minutes.
Pour in rose pink sago, continue steaming for 10 minutes.
Lastly pour in pandan sago and steam for another 10 mins or until sago is cooked.
When cooked, remove from steamer and cool completely before cutting.

甜度适中,微香椰奶,松脆椰丝,
加上绮丽的卖相,这糕可受欢迎呢!
The Steamed Pearl Sago With Coconut has a chewy texture. Its sweet aroma of coconut milk mingles well with the mild sweetness and sprinkles of grated coconut. Together with its colorful appearance, it's a kuih many will love!

  3. Hi Aunty Young, sago whether savoury or sweet is my favourite and also to many others because of it soft, chewy texture. I have been looking for a workable recipe on this sago kuih but not to satisfactory. I'll definitely try this, It looks soft and chewy. Thanks for sharing.
